A Country Place

As photographers, we all find places where we love to do shoots.  The gentleman who owns this wonderful piece of private property has graciously given me permission to use it for photo shoots, and it has become one of my favorites!

As country settings go, this one has almost everything you could possibly want.  It has woods and paths (and beautiful fall color!) . . .

clearings in the woods . . .

. . . country-looking growing things . . .

a stream . . .

several really cool old farm buildings . . .

a grain bin . . .

an old ladder . . .

a hay loft . . .

hills . . .

and even a few snakes . . .    :)

It is just a great place to take pictures, especially when my clients bring cowboy hats, cowboy boots, trucks, and guitars!

Spring 2013 Florida Trip

We are back from our spring Florida trip, which this year was longer than usual because we weren't bound to any school schedules!  It was a great,
relaxing time!  I have taken so many pictures of the ocean and the general scenery, so this year I took some pictures of wildlife, my dogs, and odd random things, such as birds on the beach and birds in the water.

My dogs loved the beach and the ocean.  Look how happy they are!

Here are some colorful beach cottages and a cute mailbox sign.

An osprey nest . . .

Beach umbrellas all set up for the day . . .

A pretty flower . . .

Beach wood . . .

And random items on the beach . . .

A bee in the sand
 A lone shell
Slurpees
A rose petal

An abandoned tote

It was a lovely vacation, but it's always good to get back home!  I have a lot of photo shoots coming up, so I will be posting some things from them soon.

Also, if you are planning to get your pictures taken, check out the General Info and Tips tab on my website, and if you want to be a Senior Model, fill out the online application that is on my website.

Photography is the art of capturing moments in time that will later become precious memories.  Whether the photo is of a person, an animal, a place, or an event, you will look at it later and say, “Oh, remember when . . .”  A baby’s toes in the grass, a new puppy, Grandma and Grandpa’s 50th wedding anniversary, a picnic at your favorite park, the family’s first trip to the beach - photos of all of these will bring smiles and fond memories.

Life is a journey - a long, winding road - and you will make memories every step of the way.  That’s why one of my favorite Dierks Bentley songs, “Every Mile a Memory,” fits my blog perfectly.

I am mainly a lifestyle photographer. I love to capture candid shots of people doing what they do - shots that reveal their true interests and personalities. Even in a scheduled portrait session, most of the shots will end up looking relaxed and natural, rather than "posed." I love natural environments and cool buildings, and I prefer to do most of my work "on location."  I work mainly with high school seniors, children, families, engagement, and save-the-date sessions. I also love to photograph animals, landscapes, and nature.
